Diamond Core Bit Installation - Husqvarna DS 700 Operator's Manual

WARNING!
Always disconnect the power source (electrical
or hydraulic) prior to installing the bit.
Inspect bit and motor spindle for damage BE-
FORE installing bit.
DO NOT use damaged bits or equipment!
DO NOT use extension rods to gain extra cutting
depth!
• Lock Carriage (K) in position using Carriage Lock
Handle (G) before mounting motor. Turn Carriage
Lock Handle (G) clockwise to tighten and lock Car-
riage (K) in position.
• Verify that the thread on the Diamond Core Bit
matches the thread on the motor spindle.
• A separating washer, or other device, should be
installed between the bit and the shoulder of the
drill motor to aid in bit removal. See "Core Bit
Removal Aids" chart for more information.
• After the "bit removal aid" is on the motor spindle
shaft, carefully thread the Diamond Core Bit onto
the spindle shaft. Tighten securely (bit will self-
tighten during operation).

NOTICE
Verify that motor spindle thread matches core bit
thread BEFORE assembling bit to motor spindle,
else damage to motor spindle may occur!
Before installing bit, grease the motor spindle
shaft and bit threads to prevent corrosion and to
help prevent the bit from seizing onto the threaded
spindle!
