Installing an Optional QSFP28/QSFP-DD Transceiver

The QSFP-DD slots support the following optional QSFP28/QSFP-DD transceivers:
• 400G BASE-SR8
• 400G BASE-LR8
• 400G BASE-DR4
• 400G BASE AOC (Active Optical Cable)
• 400G BASE DAC (Direct Attached

To install a QSFP28/QSFP-DD transceiver, follow these steps:
1. Consider network and cabling requirements to select an appropriate QSFP28/QSFP-DD
transceiver type.
2. Insert the transceiver with the optical connector facing outward and the slot connector
facing down. Note that QSFP28/QSFP-DD transceivers are keyed so they can only be
installed in one orientation.
3. Slide the QSFP28/QSFP-DD transceiver into the slot until it clicks into place.

need to be powered off before installing or removing a transceiver. However,
always first disconnect the network cable before removing a transceiver.
