▶ Use only genuine spare parts from the manufacturer.
▶ Offer your customer an annual inspection and requirement-based
maintenance and inspection contract contract.
An overview of the tasks that must be included in such contracts:
▶ Observe inspection and maintenance protocols
( chapter 14.5, page 43).

Preparing the boiler for inspection and maintenance

If gas lines have to be detached from the gas burner, the burner door may
only be opened by a competent contractor.
▶ Shut down the heating system ( chapter 9.1, page 34).
Prior to opening the burner door:
▶ Check the general condition of the heating system.
▶ Visual inspection and function check of the heating system.
▶ Check fuel and water routing system parts for tightness and signs of
corrosion.
10.3

Cleaning the boiler

10.3.1 Preparing the boiler for cleaning with brushes

CAUTION:
Risk of injury through falling parts!
▶ Prior to opening the doors, ensure that the hinge pin is correctly fitted
in the burner door and secured with a spring washer.
▶ Remove the front cover ( chapter 6.12, page 23).
▶ Remove the burner.
▶ Open the burner door ( chapter 6.9.1, page 20).
▶ Clean the combustion chamber and the heating surfaces.
▶ Open the flue gas collector cover ( chapter 10.3.5, page 36).
▶ Open cover of the condensation heating surface ( chapter 10.3.5,
page 36).
▶ Check the flue gas collector and condensate pipe, and clean via the
inspection aperture if required.

10.3.2 Cleaning the boiler with cleaning brushes

WARNING:
Risk of system damage from using incorrect cleaning equipment.
▶ If cleaning with a brush, use only genuine cleaning brushes from the
manufacturer.
▶ When cleaning only use brushes made of nylon or of stainless steel
with a stainless steel linkage.
▶ Clean the heating surfaces of the combustion chamber
( fig. 38, [1], page 35) with the cleaning brush [2].
▶ Remove any cleaning residues with a vacuum cleaner.
▶ Check the seals around the boiler door, reversing chamber and flue
gas collector, and replace if required.
▶ Close and secure the burner door.

10.3.3 Cleaning the reversing chamber

To be able to remove combustion residues from the reversing chamber,
the covers of the reversing chamber and the flue gas collector must be
removed. The relevant parts of the casing must be removed beforehand.
The cover of the reversing chamber can be found on the back of the
boiler. The cover of the flue gas collector can be found under the bottom
front cover.
▶ Unscrewing the insulation of the reversing chamber cover.
▶ Undo the nuts and washers in the reversing chamber cover.
▶ Remove the reversing chamber cover.
