1.5 RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

UCT AND CAR SEAT
The child car seat can be installed in two dif-
ferent ways:
- The i-Size base may be used exclusivity in
combination with the Oasys i-Size car seat,
approved according to standard ECE R-129.
Before installation, check that the car is fit-
ted with Isofix anchorage points, which can
be found between the backrest and seat of
the car.
The Chicco i-Size base can be used on all i-Size
approved vehicle seats (check the vehicle's in-
struction manual) and on seats of vehicles in-
with the child car seat.
- When the vehicle's 3 point seat belts (with-
out the i-Size base). The child car seat can
be fitted on the front passenger seat or any
other back seat. In any case the vehicle seat
must be used forward facing. Never use this
car seat rear facing on any vehicle's seat (Fig.
2). The vehicle's seat must be equipped with
3-point safety harnesses whether static or
retractable, approved according to UN/ECE
Regulation No. 16 or other equivalent stand-
ards (Fig. 3).
Never fit the child car seat to a ve-
hicle seat that is only equipped with a 2-point
seat belt (Fig. 4).
! In case of use in vehicles fitted
with rear safety harnesses with integrated
airbags (inflatable seat belts), the interaction
between the inflatable portion of the seat
belt and the child restraint system can cause
serious injuries or death. Do not install this
child restraint system using an inflatable safe-
ty harness. Install it using the Isofix system or
move the child car seat to a suitable type of
safety harness. During installation with the
Isofix system, the safety harness may not be
fastened behind the child car seat, as this
would engage the inflatable portion of the
safety harness.
Never use the reducer cushion if the child
weighs more than 6 kg (maximum height of
the child 60 cm).
2. CAR INSTALLATION
-
2.1 INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL OF THE
I-SIZE BASE
Proceed as indicated to install the i-Size base:
1. Extract the support leg (G) (Fig. 5). An acous-
tic signal will activate and stop when the
i-Size base has been installed correctly.
2. Completely extract both Isofix connectors
(A) of the base by pulling the connector ex-
traction lever (B) (Fig. 6). Make sure that the
system is extracted to the end stop.
3. Position the i-Size base on desired seat and
fasten the Isofix connectors to the anchor-
age points found between the backrest and
the vehicle seat (Fig. 7). You will hear a "click"
when the connectors fit into place.
Make sure that the connection
was made correctly by checking that the two
indicators (C) are green.
4. Push the i-Size base firmly against the back-
rest of the vehicle seat (Fig. 8) to make sure
it is securely in place.
