Operation of STIHL power scythe
attachments is permitted only with the
following basic power tools:

Loop-handled machines must be
equipped with a barrier bar before
using the power scythe attachment.
Other combinations of the
attachment and non-approved basic
power tools are not permitted since
they may result in accidents or
serious personal injury.

Mounting the Attachment

Preparations
:
Loosen the clamp screws on the
basic power tool's gearbox housing
and pull the gearbox off the drive
tube.
The drive shaft may slip out of the
tube in this process. If this happens,
push the drive shaft back into the
tube.
The drive shaft must not project from the
tube more than L = 0.9" (22 mm). If
necessary, apply slight pressure to the
drive shaft and rotate it slowly at the
same time until it can be pushed in to the
required length.

Mounting the Cutting Head
:
Loosen the clamp screws (9).

Push the gearbox (10) on to the
drive tube (5) – turn the gearbox
back and forth at the same time.
