The indicators and display on your motorcycle
keep you informed, alert you to possible problems,
and make your riding safer and more enjoyable.
Refer to the indicators and display frequently.
Their functions are described on the following
pages.

(1) SEL button
(2) high coolant temperature indicator
(3) PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) malfunction
indicator lamp (MIL)
(4) turn signal indicator
(5) multi-function display
(6) fuel reserve indicator
(7) neutral indicator
(8) high beam indicator
Lamp Check
Most of the indicator lights come on when you
turn the ignition switch ON so you can check
that they are working. Some indicators turn off
after a few seconds.

When applicable, the high beam and neutral
indicators come on when you turn the ignition
switch ON and remain on until you select the
low beam or shift out of neutral.
These indicators are identified in the table on
page 10 with the words: Lamp Check.
If one of these indicators does not come on

when it should, have your dealer check for
problems.
Indicators & Displays
Display Check
When the ignition switch is turned ON, the
multi-function display (1) will temporarily
show all the modes and digital segments so
that you can make sure the liquid crystal
display is functioning properly.
The displays are identified in the table on
page 10 with the words: Display Check.
If any part of these displays does not come on
when it should, have your dealer check for
problems.
