5-1 The Printer Doesn't Run

The printer does not run

Is the power switched on?
Switch on the printer's main power, then press the sub power
switch and make sure the [SETUP] light comes on.
Is something touching the touch sensor?
If an object is touching the touch sensor, the printer does
not run. Remove the object that is touching the touch sen-
sor.
Is the front cover open?
Close the front cover.
Is the top menu displayed?

Is the Base Control Panel displaying "Now printable
state"?
If the print start position is not set on the Base Control Panel,
the printer does not run. Set the print start position and
check that the Base Control Panel displays "Now printable
state".
Is the
light on?
When the
light is on, operation is paused. To re-
sume, press
. The light turns off and printing re-
sumes.
Has ink run out?

When the ink cartridge is replaced with a new one, print-
ing starts.
Is a message displayed on the screen?

Is the cable connected?
Connect the cable securely.
Are you using a long USB cable or a USB hub?
Use a shielded USB cable having a length of 3 m or less.
Do not use USB hubs or other similar devices.
