When a Media Misfeed Occurs

Problem
• The media has not been
fed and does not come out
from the media output
location.
• Media rises on the platen.
Misfeeds occur.
Cause
• The vacuuming level of the
media is too strong.
• Media has not been set in
the roll-up unit.
• The following problems
exist with the leading edge
of roll media.
• The leading edge is
damaged.
• Adhesive tape is
sticking to it.
• The corners are
folded.
• The leading edge is
cured.
• Recommended media is
not used.
• The platen is stained.
When the carriage is moving or
the media is being fed, pull up
the media holding lever.
When Media Is Not Fed Properly
Solution
• Lower the vacuum level.

• Set media in the roll-up
unit. For details about
setting roll media, see
page 50 "Setting Media".
• Cut the leading edge of
the roll media. For details
about cutting media, see
page 104 "Cutting
Media".
• Use recommended media.

recommended media, see
page 42 "Supported
Media".
• Clean the platen. For
details about how to do
this, see "Cleaning the
Platen", Requests for Daily
Care and Maintenance.
Pull out the media to the media
output location, and then reset
the media.
