Adjusting the recording level

Confirm that the MD deck is in
recording standby.
If not, press REC/REC IT.

Prepare the sound source and start play.

Press MENU/NO.
"Setup?" appears, then press ENTER/YES.

Turn MD JOG until "LevelAdjust?"
appears, then press ENTER/YES.

Turn MD JOG to adjust the recording
level.
You can roughly adjust the recording level
by pressing MD m or M.
The recording level can be adjusted from –
to +18.0 dB. While monitoring the sound,
adjust to the optimum level while making
sure that "OVER" does not appear in the
display at the loudest portion. The level
meter appears in the display while adjusting
the level. (The left channel is on the top, and
the right channel is on the bottom.)
Adjust the level so that "OVER" does not
appear

Press ENTER/YES.

Press MENU/NO.

When a CD or other sound source is
playing, stop playback.

Press MD S.
Recording starts.
When recording a CD, etc., start playing.

To stop recording
Press MD s.
Tips
• You can also adjust the recording level during
recording.
• Once adjusted, the recording level is maintained
until you adjust it again.
To recall the factory setting press CLEAR in step 6.
The recording level returns to the factory setting
(0.0 dB).
