38: Fusing Unit Air Separator Setting
Select the pattern for jetting air to separate paper in the fusing unit.
Depending on the paper type, the sheet might be stuck to the pressure roller and
jam during fusing. By setting this to "1", the paper can be separated more easily.

39: Reduce Initial CPM: Low Temp. Envrnmt.
On a three-step scale, specify copy/print speed reduction at low temperatures.
Should the temperature of the fusing unit fall below a certain point, the machine will
reduce the copy/print speed to increase fusibility. You can specify three degrees of
copy/print speed reduction.
If you do not make this setting, the copy/print speed will stay at 90 cpm (full speed)
at low temperatures.
If you select [Reduce Level 1], the copy/print speed will drop to 72 cpm (80% of full
speed) at low temperatures.
If you select [Reduce Level 2], the copy/print speed will drop to 54 cpm (60% of full
speed) at low temperatures.
If you select [Reduce Level 3], the copy/print speed will drop to 36 cpm (40% of full
speed) at low temperatures.
Reduce Initial CPM: Low Temperature Environment
Note
• Since the temperature of the fusing unit is liable to drop in a cold environment,
specify this setting in addition to "40: Reduce Initl CPM: Norml/High Temp Env".
• The setting will take effect if the ambient temperature is below 18°C.
