6.2.1.5

BOOTP/DHCP server

You can set the IP parameters via a BOOTP/DHCP server tool and transfer them to the
3RW5 communication module with the aid of the MAC address (Page 46).
The BOOTP/DHCP server is deactivated in the factory setting (default).
Note
BOOTP/DHCP server
If you do not deactivate the BOOTP/DHCP server after setting the IP parameters, the
3RW5 EtherNet/IP communication module restarts without a valid IP address and resends
BOOTP/DHCP messages.
If the BOOTP/DHCP server is activated, you can only read the IP parameters via the local
interface on the 3RW5 HMI High Feature and on the 3RW5 HMI High Feature.
Setting options
You can activate and deactivate the BOOTP/DHCP server in the following ways:
● User program via the TCP/IP Interface Object (Page 104)
● 3RW5 HMI High Feature
Menu: "Parameter > Communication module > Ethernet/IP > IP address setting"
– "Via BOOTP/DHCP server" (activate)
– "Via parameter (IP address, subnet mask, router address)" (deactivate)
You will find more information on operating the 3RW5 HMI High Feature in the
Equipment Manual of the 3RW5 soft starter.
