Checking and Cleaning the Principal Parts

Checking for Dust
Cleaning the parts
Check the parts shown on the following page for any accumulation of dust
or other foreign matter. It is recommended that you always do this check
before loading the film.
• Remove the accumulated dust by following the instructions in "Cleaning
the parts" below.
• If you find any scratches or signs of wear, contact your nearest Sony
dealer or service personnel.
Before cleaning the parts, prepare the following items:
• Toothbrush (commercially available)
• Blower brush (commercially available)
• Cleaning cloth (J-6090-011-A)
• Cleaning fluid (9-919-573-01)
Caution
• Always turn the power switch off before cleaning the parts.
• Do not apply excessive force while cleaning the parts. Doing so could
damage the parts.
• After cleaning the parts, wait until the cleaning fluid has completely
evaporated before loading the film.
To clean the lenses
Use a commercially available blower brush to remove dust and other
foreign matter.
The lenses are the most important parts in the system. Be careful not to
damage them during cleaning.
Cleaning other parts
Do the following procedure to clean other parts.
Note
When cleaning the drums, remember to carefully clean the lower drum
flange.

After making sure that the power is turned off, gently brush the parts
off with a soft toothbrush (commercially available) to remove any dust
