4-3. Presser foot

WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

4-3-1. Adjusting the pressure of the presser foot

1) Turn the presser spring regulator ❶ clockwise
A to increase the pressure given by the presser
foot.
2) Turn the presser spring regulator counterclock-
wise B to decrease it.

4-3-2. Adjusting the height of the presser bar

1) To change the height of the presser bar or the
inclination of the presser foot, loosen the presser
bar connection screw ❶ and perform the adjust-
ment properly.
2) After the adjustment, securely tighten the screw.
4-3-3. Micro-lifting mechanism of the presser
foot
When sewing velvet or the like which is fluffy, slip-
page of material or damage of material is reduced by
using screw ❷ for presser foot micro-lifting.
1) Remove cap ❶ .
2) Lower the presser foot and set the state that the
feed dog is lower than the throat plate.
Gradually tighten screw ❷ for presser foot mi-
cro-lifting in the state that nut ❸ is loosened,
finely adjust the position of the presser foot until
it matches the material, and fix it with nut ❸ .
When the presser foot micro-lifting
mechanism is not used, adjust the
height of screw ❷ so that it is higher by
approximately 15 mm than the sewing
machine. If the sewing machine is
operated in the state that the microlifting
mechanism is working, sufficient
feed force cannot be obtained.
