Invacare®Birdie™
Daily Inspections
The patient lift should be checked each time it is used. Perform the
following checks in addition to those listed in the Safety Inspection
Checklist. If you question the safety of any part of the lift, do not use.
Contact your Dealer or Invacare® representative immediately.

Visually inspect the patient lift. Check all parts for external
damage or wear. If damage is found, do not use. Contact your
Dealer or Invacare® representative immediately.

Check the emergency lowering function (both electrical and/or
mechanical). Check all parts for external damage or wear. If
damage is found, do not use. Contact your Dealer or Invacare®
representative immediately.

Check that all hardware and attachment points for damage or
wear. Check all parts for external damage or wear. If damage
is found, do not use. Contact your Dealer or Invacare®
representative immediately.
q
Verify that the hand control is functional (lifting and leg
movements).
q
Charge the battery every day the lift is used.
q
Check the emergency stop function.
