Flash Modes

Use the Flash mode option in the photo shooting menu to
choose the flash mode. The options available depend on the
mode selected with the mode dial.

352 On-Camera Flash Photography
The flash fires with every shot. In modes P
and A, shutter speed will automatically be
set to values between
Auto FP High-Speed Sync) and
Use for portraits. The flash fires with every
shot, but before it fires, the red-eye
reduction lamp on the flash unit lights to
reduce "red-eye" (a flash unit with red-eye
reduction is required). Not recommended
with moving subjects or in other situations
in which quick shutter response is

capture background lighting at night or
under low light. Use when you want to
include background lighting in portraits.
Use of a tripod is recommended to prevent
blurring caused by camera shake.
