21 Troubleshooting Guide
Always activate the disabling device before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
Condition
Impact sensor is not activated
when the robotic mower hits an
obstacle.
Driving tracks at edge of mowing
area.
Unmowed grass at edge of
mowing area.
No wire signal

Possible Cause
Depressions or obstacles in the
mowing area.
Low obstacle (height less than
3.9 in. (10 cm)).
The obstacle is not firmly
attached to the ground – e.g.
fallen fruit or tennis ball.
Too frequent edge mowing.
Starting points in use.
Battery is charged very frequently
towards the end of its service life.
Offset drive home (passage) not
switched on.
Edge mowing switched off.
Perimeter wire routed
inaccurately.
Grass is out of reach of mowing
blade.
Docking station switched off – the
LED is off.
Docking station not connected to
electrical socket – the LED is off.
Perimeter wire not connected to
the docking station – red LED
flashes.
Break in perimeter wire – red LED
flashes.
Robotic mower and docking
station are not linked.
Remedy
► Fill up holes in the mowing area, install restricted
areas around obstacles such as exposed roots,
remove obstacles.
► Remove the obstacle or block it off with a restricted
area, @ 11.5.
► Start all mowing operations at the docking station in
suitable mowing areas, @ 15.6.
► Switch off edge mowing or reduce it to once per
week, @ 15.3.
► Start all mowing operations at the docking station in
suitable mowing areas, @ 15.6.
► Have the battery replaced by an authorized STIHL
iMow servicing dealer.
► Switch on offset drive home, @ 15.2.
► Mow the edge once or twice per week, @ 15.3
► Check the routing of the perimeter wire, @ 10.7.
► Check the clearances with the iMow Ruler, @ 11.3.
► Cut the unmowed areas regularly using a suitable
grass trimmer.
► Switch on the docking station, @ 12.
► Check power supply to the docking station, @ 10.3.
► Connect the perimeter wire to the docking station,
@ 10.5.
► Search for wire break (@ 21.3), then repair
perimeter wire using wire connectors, @ 11.13.
► Link robotic mower and docking station, @ 10.6.
