Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA)
The WPA prot ocol affords users w it h vast ly st ronger securit y t han WEP . I t com es in
t w o differ ent variet ies: WPA and WPA2. Always t r y t o use WPA2 as it im plem ent s
t he full version of t he securit y st andar d and WPA does not .
Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
A pre- shared key is a password shared bet ween t he server and t he client t hat
unlocks t he algorit hm used t o encr ypt t he dat a t raffic bet ween t hem . Wit hout t he
proper password, t he client and t he server cannot com m unicat e.
Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)
An enhanced securit y fram ework designed t o im prove an exist ing securit y
prot ocol, such as WPA- PSK or WPA2- PSK.

• Make sure t he Mac OS X version of t he ZyXEL ut ilit y is already inst alled on your
com put er. See
• Aft er inst allat ion, m ake sure you repair perm issions on your inst allat ion drive.
Click Applica t ion s > Ut ilit ie s > D isk Ut ilit y or do a Spot light search for t he
key words " Disk Ut ilit y" and select it from t he search result s list . When t he Disk
Ut ilit y applicat ion opens, select your inst allat ion drive and t hen click t he Re pa ir
Pe r m ission s but t on.
