FOAM FILLED WHEELS
PT28 and 34 are equipped with non
serviceable foam filled tires.
There is no need to check pressure
or inflate tires.
CHAIN ADJUSTMENT BOLT
1.) Loosen nut and bolt fastening motor
to frame (item 10 all).
2.)
Loosen nut (13), to free Adjusting
Bolt (12).
3.)
Adjust bolt (1 2) to appropriate tension

FRICTION BRAKE

Install star hub (A) on motor shaft
1.)
using key (B). Leave 1/32 inch
space between hub and motor and
bell. Secure hub to shaft.

Install brake lining
3.)
Fasten brake magnet assembly (D)
to the motor and bell with (3)
socket head screws (E.)
CAUTION:
Periodically check brake operation. If you
can easily push or pull the machine with
the main switch OFF, the brake needs

Loosen (3) mounting screws (E)
1.)
just enough to allow movement of
the (3) hollow adjusting screws.
2.)
Use a feeler gauge to check air gap
at each adjusting screw to insure
concentricity. The air gap should be
adjusted when brake is worn to
three times greater than norma1(.024).

REPAIRS
1). Remove drive chain.
Disconnect friction brake leads.

nuts holding motor to

Remove inspection band to check
motor brushes. Replace when
worn to
5.) When reinstalling motor make sure
is in
motor sprocket
sprocket on differential. Install chain
and adjust tension with motor
adjusting bolt. Retighten lock nut
after making adjustment.

POTENTIOMETER ADJUSTMENT

If the machine creeps with the traverse
bar in neutral position the potentiometer
will need to be adjusted.

To adjust
Raise one wheel
and stabilize machine. With the main
power switch "ON" and control lever in the
neutral position loosen the set screw on
the potentiometer pivot mechanism: turn
screwdriver: adjusting the potentiometer
until the raised wheel stops rotating.
Retighten the set screw and lower the
machine to the floor.
