Battery Voltage Test
The
Battery
Cell
Tester (Open·Circuit Volt·
meter) "OCV" testers are designed to test bat·
teries which
range
from
1.260
to
1.280 specific

ravity
when fully charged at 80
degrees F,
The "OCV" meter consists of
an
accurate
expanded.scale voltmeter equipped
with
test
prods
which are contacted to the
terminals
of
each cell,
To
make the battery test, contact the
meter
prods to the
proper
cell terminals
(red
to posi-
tive
,
black to negative)
,
using caution
not
to
prod across more than one
cell.
In the case of the 12·volt battery -
buried
link
s
- the
point
of the prod will have
to
be
pushed through the sealing compound to make
contact with the buried link for each cell reading,
