LAN Configuration Requirements

For the initial connection to the Internet and configuration of your gateway, connect a computer to
the gateway which is set to automatically get its TCP/IP configuration from the gateway via
DHCP.
Note: For help with DHCP configuration, see the link to the online document
Networking and TCP/IP Addressing" in Appendix

Internet Configuration Requirements

Depending on how your ISP set up your Internet account, you will need one or more of these
configuration settings to connect your gateway to the Internet:
• Host and Domain Names
• ISP Domain Name Server (DNS) Addresses
• Fixed or Static IP Address

Connecting the CG834WG Gateway

Note: Install and set up the CG834WG Gateway using an Ethernet or USB connection to
your computer first. Then configure the wireless settings. See
"Wireless Configuration"

Installation

Follow these steps to install your gateway:
1. Connect the gateway.
