SITRANS LR 400

SITRANS LR 400 is a long-range FMCW radar level transmitter. A solids version (7ML5420)
incorporates the Easy Aimer design for use in solids, especially conditions of extreme
dust. A liquids version (7ML5421) is available for use in liquids storage, ideal for low
dielectric liquids, and high pressure applications or applications requiring gas safety
approvals. On both versions, the narrow antenna beam results in a sharp emission cone,
which makes SITRANS LR 400 quite insensitive to vessel interferences.
This manual applies to the solids version only. Please see Instruction
Note:
Manual 7ML19985FH05 for information about the SITRANS LR 400 liquids version.

The terminals for the power cable and the signal cable are behind the connection cover
on the left side of the housing. The signal cable must be fed in from the right through the
cable glands.
The antenna end must reach inside the vessel through the vessel nozzle (see page 13).
If the device is rotated, return the orientation of the housing to its previous position with
reference to the enclosure, to ensure similar performance.
