Screw the shade retainer rod e into
the thread on the upper end of the
lamp rod y.
Unscrew the end cap w.
Extend the lamp shade q to its full
length and draw it, with the ring
retainer pointing upwards, over the
lamp rod y.
Place the ring retainer on the thread
of the shade retainer rod e and
screw the end cap w back on.
Unscrew the cap nuts s from the
screws on the lower end of the lamp
shade q.
Guide these screws through the open-
ings in the lower shade retainer u and
then screw the cap nuts s back on.
Place the lamp at a suitable location,
as detailed in the Safety Instructions..
Unwrap the power cable o and in-
sert the plug into a properly installed
household power socket.
Activate the foot switch a to switch
the lamp on. The light bulb r will
heat up quickly - do not touch it again
until it has cooled down after being
switched off, otherwise you will be
burnt.
Activate the foot switch once again a
to switch the lamp off.
Changing a light bulb
CAUTION!
Check to ensure that the plug has
been removed from the wall socket.
If the lamp has been in use, first allow
the bulb to cool down completely. This
avoids the potential risk of being burnt.
Turn the spent bulb anti-clockwise
until it can be removed from the bulb
holder.
Insert the new light bulb into the bulb
holder t and turn it clockwise until it
is firmly seated.
