Answering system settings (handset only)

Message alert tone

When the message alert tone is set to ON, and there is at least one new
message, the telephone base beeps every 10 seconds.
the message alert tone is set to off.
There is no audible alert at the handset.
To change the setting:
1.
When the handset is in idle mode, press MENU/
enter the main menu.

Press

to scroll to >Answering sys, then press
/SELECT.

to scroll to >Msg alert tone, then press
/SELECT.

to choose On or Off.
6.
Press
/SELECT to confirm your setting and you hear a

confirmation tone. Press
/CANCEL to cancel.

The message alert tone beeps only if all the conditions
below are met:
- Answering system is on.
- Message alert tone setting is on.
- There are new messages.

To temporarily turn off the message alert tone, see page 61.

Telephone base settings

Using the menu
To enter the handset menu:
1.
Press MENU/
when the telephone base is not
SELECT
in use.
2.
Press

until the screen displays the desired

feature menu.
3.

/SELECT to enter that menu.
