Start Up
 Press and hold "Power" button on
right hand side of GPS
 Wait for GPS to track satellites
 To find current location be in a
clear area (Note: *location and
satellites will be difficult to find if
indoors*)
 Press " page" to switch between
map, pointer, trip computer, and
menu screens
*you do not need to wait for the GPS
to track satellites to access these
functions*
Mark a Way Point
A waypoint marks a single specific
location. (e.g. school, trail junction,
sampling location). We mark waypoints
so that we can map that specific
location visit it again or view its
geographic coordinates.
 Press "page" until you reach the
menu screen (Figure 1)
 "Mark" will be highlighted; press
"enter"

 GPS will ask if current location is
"ok to mark", if yes, press "enter"
 The screen will then go back to
the "menu" screen
How to Rename a Waypoint
If you want to return to a specific
location you have marked, you can look
up the waypoint and the GPS will show
you how to get there from your current
location.
 Press "page" until you reach the
menu screen

 Press down arrow key once so
that "waypoints" is highlighted
(Figure 2)

 Press "enter"
 Use arrow keys to scroll to which
way point you would like to look
at; press "enter"
 "Go to" will be highlighted; press
"enter" to view waypoint, you
will be taken to a screen that will
guide you to your waypoint
