Your PCS Phone™ provides convenient ways to enter words, letters, punctuation and
numbers.
To change the character input mode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text, press right softkey to display the
input mode.
2 . Highlight your desired mode from T 9 W o r d , A l p h a b e t , S Y M B O L , N U M B E R , or
S M I L E Y S and press MENU/OK.

To enter characters by tapping the keypad, select the A l p h a b e t mode (see "Selecting a
Character Input Mode" on page 25). Press the corresponding key until the desired
character appears. By default, the first letter of a word is capitalized and following
letters are lowercase.
