come on, and an alarm will sound for a

A07. THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
With the doors, hood and trunk lid
locked, check that the system operates
properly.
System test:
a) Open the windows.
b) Lock the front doors using the key. Be
sure to wait until the security indicator
light on the dash starts flashing.
c) Unlock one of the doors using the in-
side door lock. The system should ac-
tivate the alarm (sounding of the horn,
blinking of the headlights, tail lights
and emergency flasher, lighting up in-
terior light).
d) Cancel the system by unlocking either
door with the mechanical key or the
electrical key.
A08. ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
a) Check that the security indicator light
flashes when the engine switch is se-
lected in the "OFF" mode.
b) Check that the engine can be started
using the keys.
c) Check that the security indicator light
turns off when starting the engine.
