Prerequisites

that came with the product.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.

Remove the following:
a
Hard drives
b
Memory risers
c
Cooling fans
d
Memory riser and fan cage
e
SAS expander daughter card
NOTE:
Not applicable for the 2.5 inch (x4) SAS/SATA backplane
configuration.
Steps
1
Align the following:
a
Black guide on the hard drive backplane with the memory riser guide.
b Hooks and slots on the hard drive backplane with the hooks and slots on the chassis.
2
Lower the backplane into the system until the hooks and slots on the backplane engage with the hooks and slots on the chassis.
