Configuring VTP and VLANs on the Switch
In order to successfully configure the RSFC for interVLAN routing, you must configure VTP and
create and configure VLANs on the switch.

Ensure that the RSFC is securely seated in the supervisor engine.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to install the eight screws that secure the RSFC to the
supervisor engine standoffs (see Figure 3 for screw and standoff locations).
Install the supervisor engine into the Catalyst 5000 series switch (see the "Installing the
Supervisor Engine" section on page 10 for instructions).
