Symptom
• RAM SIMM J5 or J8 (4079-001 only)
• Logic Board (4079-002 only)
Action
The printer requires 4 MB of RAM to complete
POST. If error code 960 appears, replace the SIMM
in J8, which should be 4 MB, then continue (4079-
001 only).
If you receive a 960 error with a 4079-002, replace
the controller board which includes the first 4MB of
RAM.
Check the RAM installed in the printer. Go to
troller Diagnostics" on page 3-9
test. Note the amount of memory reported in your
printer. If the correct amount is not reported for each
SIMM, replace the faulty SIMM. If the correct
amount is reported go to the
