Configuring Logs

The Log menu lets you configure FortiVoice Gateway logging.
FortiVoice Gateway provides extensive logging capabilities for voice incidents and system
events. Detailed log information provides analysis of network activity to help you identify
network issues and reduce network misuse and abuse.
Logs are useful when diagnosing problems or when you want to track actions the FortiVoice
Gateway performs as it receives and processes phone calls.

FortiVoice Gateway can log:
• system-related events, such as configuration changes and administrator login/logout
• phone call events
You can select which severity level an activity or event must meet in order to be recorded in the

download these logs from the Logs submenu of the Status tab.

Avoid recording highly frequent log types such as voice logs to the local hard disk for an
extended period of time. Excessive logging frequency can cause undue wear on the hard disk
and may cause premature failure.
