EMISSIONS TESTING
bold
In some localities, it may be or will become a legal
r equir ementto ensur e thatallemissionscomponentsand
systems ar e functioning pr operly as a part of the test
pr ocedur e.The testcenteraccomplishes this by checking
the On Boar d Diagnostic System (OBD)system with an
electr onic scan tool. If your vehicle has r ecently bee
serviced,the OBD system may have been r esetto a
r eady condition because the OBD system has not had
suf ficient time since the servicing to r econfirm t
emissions components ar e operating pr operly. In most
cases,a r easonable mix and amountofnormalcity and
highway driving and at least one overnight-of f period
willbe r equir ed to pr epar e your vehicle for this check;
however your dealer has the equipmentand pr ocedur es
r equir ed to make certain that the OBD system of your
vehicle is r eady for the r equir ed testing.
