If your car is not equipped with Air Conditioning your dealer can
install a Pontiac unit in your car at his
dealership.
POWER WINDOW LIFTS-All vertical
moving windows are controlled either from
a four position switch located in the left front
door panel or by individual switches on each
window.
The first and third buttons control the left
hand front and rear windows respectively,
while the second and fourth buttons control
the right hand front and rear windows respectively. The individual
buttons on the left rear and right front and rear side control their
respective windows individually. Moving the button up raises the
window. Moving the button down lowers the window. Pontiac window
lifts may be operated with or without the ignition being turned on.
POWER STEERING-As an option available on Pontiac cars, Power
Steering is becoming increasingly more popular each year. Pontiac
Power Steering is designed so that the driver still retains the feel of
the road. Power Steering comes into action only when the effort
required to turn the front wheel reaches a predetermined number of
pounds pull on the rim of the steering wheel. The effort required of
the driver does not increase over a set maximum even under such
full load conditions as parking.
Pontiac owners do not have to develop a new "feel" or become
"acc~stomed"
to Pontiac Power Steering. Even on snow or ice the
"feel" is the same as that of a car equipped with standard steering
since the force required to turn the wheels, under these conditions,
is well below that which makes the power steering operative.
Power Steering offers these important safety advantages; reduces
fatigue on long trips, minimizes chances of losing control of the car
from a tire blowout, and almost instantaneously overcomes the wheel
drag experienced with standard steering when a car is driven in heavy
sand, loose gravel or onto a soft shoulder.
ELECTRIC WINDSHIELD WIPER-The control knob for the
electric windshield wiper is located on the instrument panel to the
left of the steering column. Rotating the knob clockwise a quarter
turn starts the wiper motor on high speed. Low ·speed operation is
attained by turning the knob partially back towards the
"off"
position.
When the wipers are turned off they will complete their cycle before
returning to a parked position.
The longer wiper arm and blade gives you 20% more cleaned area than
is possible with the standard wiper. The special wiper blade construc-
tion permits it to follow the contour of the windshield glass clown and
around the outer corners which gives you an added safety
feature.
