Both the Power and Manual Seat Adjuster
will
give you more comfort,
better
visibility,
and, through the wide
variety of seat
positions reduce
driving fatigue by improving muscular relaxation.
POWER BRAKES-Po";tiac Power Brakes have been improved
internally to
give you optimum safety and satisfaction.
Newly de-
signed,
the
over
10
square
inch brake
pedal aids
in
application.
Through
the use of both vacuum
and atmospheric
pressure the finest
braking
possible
is
obtained
with
a
minimum
of effort
being required
to
operate the
foot pedal.
A vacuum reserve tank has been
provided
which will normally retain
sufficient vacuum
to allow one
or
two
applications
of the Power Brakes
after
the
engine stops.
The hydraulic
part of your
brake system
will
continue
to
operate even
though the
vacuum reserve
should become
dissipated.
Until
this vacuum is
restored
through engine operation,
your
brakes
will operate
in the manner
of
regular hydraulic brakes,
but it
requires
more pedal pressure to
assure
the complete operation
of the brake
system.
It is advisable to try the brakes
with
no vacuum
to
get
the feel
of the
brake pedal under
the above
condition.
Caution:
When starting or parking
on
a
grade
with a car with a Synchro-
Mesh transmission the parking brake should be used. Cars equipped with
Strato-Flight Hydra-Matic transmission should be left in park position
under these same circumstances.
THE AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC
ANTENNA- The
Automatic
Electric
An-
tenna, used exclusively in conjunction with
the
Electramatic
Wonder-Bar radio is con-
trolled
through
the power
switch
in the
radio. With
the
ignition key
in
the
AC-
CESSORY
or ON
position the
antenna
will
automatically rise
to
a
preset height
of
30"
above
fender level
when
the radio
power
is turned
on.
It will also
automati-
cally retract
to its
original
position when-
ever the radio
or
ignition switch is turned
off.
To raise the
antenna
beyond the 30 inch height
you
merely push in the
button
of the override switch
located under the instrument panel to
the
right of
the
steering
column. The
antenna
will rise as long
as
the
switch
is held
in,
until a maximum height
of 60
inches is reached. It
will automatically
lower itself fully whenever the
radio or
ignition
switch
is turned
off.
Since
all radio reception
is dependent
on antenna
height
the
automatic
raising feature
of
the
Automatic
Electric
Antenna assures
owners of
the
Electramatic
Wonder-Bar radio
of
more
and
better
station
recep-
tion
and positive
operation
of
tuning mechanism.
