Changing the setting of vocals
You can eliminate the vocals on the disc by setting
"Vocal" to "OFF". Vocals are output when turned on.

Use the cursor button (2 3) to select "Vocal"
in the Karaoke Setup menu.

Use the cursor button (5 ∞) to change the
settings as desired.
The vocals will no longer be audible; only the music
can be heard if set to OFF.

Note
When turning off the vocals, make sure to turn off the Vocal
Partner function.
Setting the "Vocal Partner" feature
With this feature, the vocal of the singer on the disc is
silenced while you sing with the microphone; when you
stop singing, the singer's voice becomes audible again.
This function is useful for learning new songs, and for
practicing a duet when you are by yourself.

Notes
• To adjust the Vocal Partner volume, make the adjustment
under "Vocal Volume". (Refer to "Adjusting the volume of the
vocal".)
• On some discs, the volume of the singer may not be reduced
by much even when you sing.
• In the case of software that contains two vocals on a Dolby
Digital multiplex compatible DVD karaoke disc, the Vocal
Partner feature works on the vocal that is selected through the
"Vocal Select" menu item. (Refer to "Selecting the vocal".)

Karaoke Setup menu, allowing you to select the desired
vocal.

• If "V1 & 2" is set, vocal 1 plays on the left channel, and vocal 2
MAX
plays on the right channel. If "MIX" is selected, both vocals
play in monaural on channels 1 and 2.
• The "Vocal" or "Vocal Partner" setting must be "ON".
• When the Vocal Partner function is on, the vocals are played
back in mono even if V1 & 2 are set.
Adjusting the volume of the vocal
You can adjust the volume of the vocal in order to
optimize its usefulness for karaoke practice.
Turn on the Vocal or Vocal Partner function.
