group

Through combining
the
Mean
Tone and
Pythagorean temperaments,
it
allows
for
playing
in
any
key.

Kirnberger
Temperament
(The 3rd
scale)
As
a
result
of
improvements
made
to
the
Mean
Tone and
Just
temperaments,
it
is
relatively
tolerant
towards
transposition,
and
can be used
to
play
in
all
keys.

Pythagorean
Temperament
A
method
of
tuning
developed by
the
philosopher Pythagoras
as a
way
to resolve the
ambiguity
of fourths
and
fifths.
As
a
result
melodies sound
cleaner,
but a
certain
amount
of
ambiguity
is
produced
with
triads.
