Procedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power source and the server.
3. Remove the bezel.
4. Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.
5. Remove the access panel.
6. Remove the air baffle.
7. Remove the front PCI fan:
a. Disconnect the front PCI fan power cable.
b. Release the cable from the clips.
c. Press and hold the fan latch, then remove the fan.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Replacing a system fan

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and internal system components
to cool before touching them.
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1. Power down the server.
