CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the screws as this might damage the board, connectors, or screws and voids
the warranty of the system board.
Install the heatsink:
a. Position the heatsink using the guide pin on the processor backplate.
b. Tighten one pair of diagonally opposite screws halfway, then tighten the other pair of screws.
c. Finish the installation by completely tightening the screws in the same sequence.
21. Install the processor socket cover on the failed system board.
22. Install the DIMMs.
23. Install the expansion boards.
24. Install the front PCI fan.
25. Install the system fan.
26. Install the air baffle.
27. Install the access panel.
28. Return the server to an upright position.
29. Close and lock the tower bezel.
30. Connect the power cord to the power source and server.
31. Power on the server.
After you replace the system board, you must re-enter the server serial number and product ID:
1. During the server startup sequence, press the F9 key to access UEFI System Utilities.
2. Select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Advanced Options >
Advanced System ROM Options > Serial Number, then press the Enter key.
3. Enter the serial number and press the Enter key. The following message appears:
The serial number should only be modified by qualified service personnel.
4. To clear the warning, press the Enter key.
5. Enter the serial number and press the Enter key.
6. Select Product ID. The following warning appears:
Warning: The Product ID should ONLY be modified by qualified service personnel. This value should
always match the Product ID located on the chassis.
7. Enter the product ID and press the Enter key.
8. To confirm exiting System Utilities, press the F10 key.
