Remove the key from the ignition switch lock
cylinder.
Ignition Switch Positions
1 — STOP (OFF/LOCK)
2 — MAR (ON/RUN)
3 — AVV (START)
WARNING!
• Before exiting a vehicle, always shift the
automatic transmission into PARK or the
manual transmission into REVERSE, apply
the parking brake, turn the engine OFF, re-
move the key fob from the ignition and lock
your vehicle.
• Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or
with access to an unlocked vehicle.

WARNING!
• Allowing children to be in a vehicle unat-
tended is dangerous for a number of rea-
sons. A child or others could be seriously or
fatally injured. Children should be warned
not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal
or the transmission gear selector.
• Do not leave the key fob in or near the
vehicle, or in a location accessible to chil-
dren. A child could operate power windows,
other controls, or move the vehicle.
• Do not leave children or animals inside
parked vehicles in hot weather. Interior heat
build-up may cause serious injury or death.
CAUTION!
An unlocked vehicle is an invitation. Always
remove the key from the ignition and lock all
the doors when leaving the vehicle unat-
tended.

Key-In-Ignition Reminder

Opening the driver's door when the key is in the
ignition and the ignition switch position is in the
STOP (OFF/LOCK) position, sounds a signal to
remove the key.
VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM
SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
The vehicle security alarm monitors the doors and
decklid for unauthorized entry. It will also activate
the siren and emit a visual flash of the turn signals
(front and rear) for any of the following intrusion
cases.
Operation
The alarm activates in the following cases:
1. Wrongful opening of one of the doors or the
decklid (perimeter protection).
2. Cutting of the battery leads.
3. Movement inside the passenger compartment
(volumetric protection).
4. Anomalous lifting/tilting of the vehicle.
