Problems with the perfume atomizer
Problem
The vehicle interior is not
perfumed although the
perfume atomizer is acti-
vated.
Ionization
Ionization is used to purify the air in the vehicle
interior and attain an improved interior climate.
The ionization of the interior air is odorless and
cannot be perceived directly in the vehicle inte-
rior.
You can switch ionization on or off using the
multimedia system (
Ionization can only be operated when the auto-
matic climate control is switched on. The side air
vent on the driver's side must be open.

Important safety notes

WARNING
Very hot or very cold air can flow from the air
vents. This could result in burns or frostbite in
the immediate vicinity of the air vents. There
is a risk of injury.
Make sure that all vehicle occupants always
maintain a sufficient distance to the air out-
lets. If necessary, redirect the airflow to
another area of the vehicle interior.
Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions
The perfume vial has not been pushed into the holder as far as it will
go.
Slide the perfume vial into the holder as far as it will go.

The perfume vial is not filled sufficiently.
Pre-filled vials: dispose of the empty vial.

Use a new pre-filled vial.
X
Refillable vials: fill the perfume vial with a maximum of 0.5 fl. oz.
X
(15 ml) of the same perfume.
The perfume atomizer is faulty.
Have the perfume atomizer checked at a qualified specialist work-

shop.

In order to ensure the direct flow of fresh air
through the air vents into the vehicle interior,
please observe the following notes:
keep the air inlet between the windshield and

the hood free of blockages, such as ice, snow
or leaves.
never cover the air vents or air intake grilles in
R
the vehicle interior.
Setting the air vents
Air vents are located:
on the left and right-hand side of the dash-

board
in the middle of the dashboard
R
in the rear center console, depending on the
R
equipment installed
