title bar. Your phone will use the selected protocol for all subsequent calls, unless you select a different
protocol.

Dialog box method

A dialog box displays to allow you to choose the protocol. Tap Use SIP (to place a SIP call) or Use H.323
(to place an H.323 call).
For dual-protocol phones, the protocol displays next to all call IDs, including the call IDs for conference
call participants and calls on hold.
When you place calls from call lists or directories, your phone will automatically choose the protocol to
use based on the information in the call list or directory. When you set up a contact in your local
Contact Directory, you can specify the protocol the contact uses to handle calls. This allows your phone
to automatically use the correct protocol when you dial the contact.
