Loading Paper in the Internal Paper Drawers

If the machine is out of the type of paper selected for printing, the message shown below appears in
the touch panel display, indicating that the selected paper drawer or the stack bypass has run out of
paper.
CAUTION
• When loading paper, take care not to cut your hands on the edges of the paper.
IMPORTANT
• This message will also appear if the selected paper drawer is not fully inserted into the machine. Properly
insert the paper drawer.
NOTE
• If printing is interrupted because the printer is out of paper, it will automatically resume as soon as paper
is loaded in the selected paper drawer. To change the paper size or paper drawer selection, use the Select
Paper screen, then press the [Done] key.
The following types of paper can be placed in the paper drawers.
NOTE
• For paper requirements for the optional 1000 Sheet Paper Deck, see "Loading the 1000 Sheet Paper
Deck," on p. 3-33.
Standard Sizes
- Upper paper drawer: LGL, LTR, B4, A4
- Lower paper drawer: 11"x17", LGL, LTR, A3, B4, A4
Materials
Plain paper, recycled paper, colored paper, letterhead, thin paper, bond paper, plain paper 2
IMPORTANT
• Observe the following limitations on paper loaded in the paper drawers:
- Quantity: 1 to 500 sheets
- Weight: 16 to 28-lb. bond (60 to 105 g/m
2
)
