Names and Functions of Parts
Note
If you switch to forced remote mode while carrying
out a setting operation on the MB-8N, this may cause a
malfunction. When switching to forced remote mode,
check that no setting operation is being carried out on
the MB-8N.
You can set a password for forced remote operation. For
details see "Using the Menus" (page 24).
WRU-8N settings
When you click on a WRU-8N icon or the user name
shown to the right of the icon in the tree display, the
WRU-8N settings appear in the detailed settings
window.

1 Cell number button
This shows the number of the monitor cell.
The cell number duplicates the function of the SET
button; click it to enable a change of the settings.
Note
• It is not possible to change the cell number.
• When you change the settings, even when the
indications change the settings are still not effective.
To make the changed settings effective, you must
click the cell number button.
• The number shown in a cell number button may
temporarily disappear, but this is not a malfunction.
In such cases, click anywhere on the screen, to restore
the number. (Click somewhere not a button or other
control.)

You can change the color of the cell number button using
the color palette. For details, see "Using the Menus" (page
24).
2 User name box
Click within the box, and enter a desired name from
the keyboard (maximum 16 alphanumeric characters).
Note
We recommend using only normal alphanumeric
characters in the User Name box.
If you use characters not supported by the MB-8N unit
(Japanese or other double-byte East Asian characters,
for example), the characters entered will not appear
correctly on the MB-8N display.
3 Group name list
Click the up and down arrow buttons, to select a
group.
4 Channel list
Click the up and down arrow buttons, to select the
channel. The channels that can be selected depend on
the specified group.
5 Speaker icon
Indicates the audio output settings of the MB-8N unit.
6 Frequency input box
Click within the box, and enter the receiving frequency
(in MHz) from the keyboard.
If you enter the frequency here, the group is
automatically set to the group including all
frequencies.
Note
Enter a value of up to three decimal places.
7 TX BAT (battery) indicator
For a transmitter fitted with a battery alarm function,
this lights red approximately one hour before the
battery goes dead.
Note
When the transmitter is switched on or off, the TX
BAT (transmitter battery) indicator may light for an
instant.
8 TX (radio frequency) indicator
When the RF level is above the RF squelch level
(when the audio output is not muted) this lights green,
and when it is lower (when the audio output is muted)
it lights red.
