N Left hand on the loop handle, right
hand on the control handle, cutting
attachment just above the ground.
Check that the cutting attachment
is not touching the ground of any
other obstacles. The throttle cable
must be positioned parallel to the
flexible shaft, not wrapped around
it.
N Make sure you have a firm footing.
N Set the slide control to F.
N Lift the cover on the starter switch
with your right thumb and hold it
there.
N Press the starter switch with your
right thumb (I) – the engine starts
and settles down to idle speed.
Make sure the carburetor is correctly
adjusted. The cutting attachment must
not rotate when the engine is idling.
Your machine is now ready for
operation.
At low outside temperatures
N After starting the engine, open the
throttle slightly and warm up the
engine for a brief period.

Stopping the Engine
N Move the slide control to STOP-0
(h).
If the engine does not start
Battery is not charged sufficiently
The battery was not charged sufficiently
before using the power tool for the first
time.
N Charge the battery
N Start the engine.
Battery not charged sufficiently after out-
of-service period of more than 3 months.
N Charge the battery
N Start the engine.
Repeated short periods of operation with
frequent starts may result in the battery
not being sufficiently charged.
N Charge the battery
N Start the engine.
Power tool temperature too low
The power tool has been stored for a
prolonged period at a temperature below
5°C and has cooled down to a point
where a start is inhibited in order to save
the battery.
N
Do not store the power tool at
temperatures below 5°C.
N Move the power tool to a warm
place (10°C to 25°C) and wait until
its temperature rises to at least 5°C.
N Start the engine.
Adjusting the throttle cable
N Check adjustment of throttle cable –
see chapter on "Adjusting the
Throttle Cable".
If the fuel tank has been run
completely dry and then refueled
N
Press the fuel pump bulb at least
five times – even if the bulb is filled
with fuel.
N Start the engine.
