The
Slide
Switch
Springs
are
wire
leaf-
type
springs.
Actuate and
release
the
RECORD
and
AUDIO
DUB
Buttons
a
few
times.
Check
that
the
slide
switches operate
correctly.

SWITCH ADJUST-
MENT
To
check
the operation
of the
Automatic
Shut-Off
Switch, turn
on
the
power and
proceed
as follows.
1.
Remove
the tape
from
the
normal
tape path. Set
3.
the
Function
Lever
first
to
FORWARD,
then
to
PAUSE,
FAST FORWARD,
and
REWIND.
The
motor
should
shut off
in
each
position
after
about
1
second.
Repeat
this
check with
tape threaded
properly.
The
motor
should
remain
on when
the
Function
Lever
is
set
to
FORWARD,
PAUSE,
FAST
FORWARD,
and
REWIND.
Set the
Function
Lever
to
STOP,
and
depress
the
RECORD
button.
The motor
should
turn
on.
Thread
the tape
on
the
VTR. Make
sure that
the
motor
is
not
shut
off
by
a
slight
overshoot
of
the
tape sensing
wire.
If
the
aforementioned
condi-
tions are
not met, proceed
to
the following
steps.
Set the
Function Lever
to
STOP. Check
for
ap-
proximately
5
mm
clearance
between
the tape
sur-
face
and
the sensing
wire.
