WARNING:
This instrument emits intense light to take its measurements.
Take measurements only at the forehead or sternum, and do not
press the measuring probe when it is directed to the eyes.
Damage to the eyes could occur.
6. Perform the following:
a. Place the measuring probe
vertically against the infant's
forehead or sternum. Avoid any
bruises or discolored areas of the
skin.
b. Push the measuring probe gently
until a click sounds. The
instrument's xenon lamp flashes
momentarily, and the measured
value appears on the display.
• If the measured value is outside the
measurement range of 20 mg/dL or
340 µmol/L, the display shows "---
" and user should contact the
physician.
NOTE:
If the instrument is not operated for more
than 60 seconds, the backlight on the display
goes out.
7. To take another measurement, press
the Reset button, and continue from step 4.
