Remove beater bar by carefully lifting out.
Remove worn or broken belt.
Clean beater bar and the end caps (See
BEATER BAR CLEANING, page 35).

After reinstalling the beater bar, turn by
hand to make sure that belt is not twisted
or pinched and that all rotating parts turn
freely.

Press lower plate onto nozzle and secure
by rotating the lower plate latches to the
LOCK position.

Groove
Loop new belt around motor shaft and
beater bar belt groove; see illustration for
correct belt routing.
Reinstall beater bar back into nozzle
housing grooves.

Reinstall lower plate. Ensure tabs are
locked into slots.
