Problem
Static is heard, sound
cuts in and out.

Phonebook

Problem
I cannot store an item in
the phonebook.

Cause & solution
L Move the handset and the base unit away from other
electrical appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L Raise the base unit antennas.
L Turn on the clarity booster feature (page 19).
L If your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL
service, we recommend connecting a noise filter
between the base unit and the telephone line jack.
Contact your ADSL provider for details.
L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page 31).
L If the other handset is in use, you may not be able to
make a call. Try again later.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 35.
L If the above remedies do not solve the problem, set the
dialling mode. Press {MENU} {0} {5} {1} {Save}
{OFF}.
L The unit is not designed to be used with rotary (pulse
dialling) services.
L If the last number dialled was more than 48 digits long,
the number will not be redialled correctly.
L If you press {REDIAL} after you have started dialling,
this button functions as the {PAUSE} button. To redial,
do not dial any numbers before pressing {REDIAL}.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 35.
L Make sure that an optional headset is connected
properly (page 39).
L If "SP-phone" is displayed on the handset, press {C}
to switch to the headset.
L Use only Panasonic KX-TCA88AL headset.
L The called handset is too far from the base unit.
L The called handset is in use. Try again later.
Cause & solution
L You cannot store an item in the phonebook while the
handset is in talk, speakerphone, or intercom mode.
L Do not pause for over 1 minute while storing.
L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 35.
