Specify the output method for each channel.

Front
Specify whether sound beams or normal sounds are output from the front channels.
Sound output with "Beam" Sound output with "Stereo"
Settings
Sound beams are output from the left front, right front, and center channels.
Beam This setting is effective for creating sound fields greater than the dimensions of
the actual listening room for playback of movies and the like.
No sound beams are output from the left front, right front, and center channels.
Stereo
Front channel audio comes from the direction of the screen. Therefore, this
setting is effective for enjoying music content such as live music videos.
Sound beams are output from the left front, right front, and center channels.
Other channels are mixed into the left front and right front channels. This setting
Mix
is effective when the listening position is close to the rear wall, or when several
people have gathered to watch a movie.
• This setting is not available when "My Surround" is selected.

Sounds are played back without using surround back channels. Left and right
surround channel audio is played back using sound beams that come from
behind the listening position.
Sounds are played back using surround back channels. Left and right surround
back channel audio is played back using sound beams that come from behind
the listening position. Left and right surround channel audio is output using both
sound beams that come from the front channels and from behind the listening
position. This allows sounds to be heard from the sides of the listening position
as well.
Automatically select whether or not surround back channels are used based on
the number of channels used for playback of the selected input source.
