About the compatibility of the recorded motion pictures
≥ They are not compatible with devices other than those that support AVCHD. Images cannot be
played with equipment that does not support AVCHD (ordinary DVD recorders). Confirm that your
equipment supports AVCHD by referring to the operating instructions.
≥ There are some cases where the recorded motion pictures cannot be played back, even if the
device supports AVCHD. In such cases, play the recorded motion picture with this unit instead.
≥ The images recorded between pressing the recording start/stop button to start recording and
pressing it again to pause recording become one scene.
≥ When about 5 minutes have passed without any operation in recording pause, the unit automatically
turns off to prevent the battery from running down. When you want to use the unit, turn it on again.
This power save feature can also be set to [OFF]. ([POWER SAVE]: l 31)
≥ (The maximum number of recordable pictures on a single SD card or HDD)
Maximum number of recordable scenes: 3900
Maximum number of different dates: 200 (l 77)
When either of them reaches to the maximum limit, additional scenes cannot be recorded.
≥ When recording motion pictures, do not remove the battery or disconnect the AC adaptor. Also, do
not remove the SD card while the card access lamp lights up. If you do either of the above, the
recovery operation will begin when the SD card is next inserted or the power is turned back on.
(l 129)
≥ Put the unit in pause mode when connecting or disconnecting an external microphone with the MIC
terminal. If an external microphone is connected or disconnected while recording, the audio will not
be recorded properly.
≥ Still pictures can be recorded while recording the motion picture. (l 46)
≥ A message is displayed and you cannot record when the HDD does not operate normally due to the
temperature of the unit being too high or low, or when the SD card cover cannot be closed due to
failure of the SD card cover. In this case, press the recording start/stop button to display the media
change message, allowing you to change the recording media.
