ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
Purpose
Fuses are electrical safety valves that protect wiring
and electrical components from damage from high
current flow by creating an open circuit.
Fuses are rated for specific currents (amps).
Never connect a jumper wire across a fuse. Never
connect additional fuses in parallel.
Always use the proper fuse. Always find and correct
the reason for a blown fuse.
Testing
A blade type fuse may be checked visually. If the loop
(A) is open, the fuse is blown. If in doubt, the fuse may
also be tested with an ohmmeter.
